SORRY TO REPORT THIS CAFE CLOSED IN SPRING 2013. The cafe is in the back of the Bear Paw gift shop & gallery, and consists of seating for about 25, a counter (where you place your order before you sit down) and one master chef/owner, Arlie Doxtator. My friend and I stumbled across it when we were grudgingly on our way to McDonald's which is in the same little strip mall. Doxtator is a member of the Oneida Tribe, and he tries to use indigenous, locally produced foods. Like you might find him serving Oneida Pumpkin Creme Brulee. I had White Corn soup (made with smoked turkey that I thought was ham hock) and my friend got Turkey w/ Wild Rice. Both were excellent and NO MSG. But the cafe also offers more standard fare like deli sandwiches, in case you have an unadventuresome person in the group. EG My friend got a ham on whole wheat, while I got roasted seasonal veggies in balsamic vinegar with feta on flat bread. Not much you can do to a ham sandwich, but my sandwich was delicious! As I write this the cafe is open Monday - Saturday from 7am-4 BUT since this is basically a one-man shop you'd be well advised to call first if you're making a special trip. I loved it and will definitely be back!
